Prostitution is a cross-border problem that cannot be solved by a single country acting alone. In fact, countries, especially if talking about EU should cooperate closely to combat prostitution. Legal differences between countries, where some countries have legalized, some have decriminalized and some completely criminalized prostitution, lead to rise of exploitation and trafficking in some countries while other countries have it decreased. Moreover, it encourages trafficking and exploitation outside the country, which is harder to combat as traffickers and pimps can hide behind laws that legalize prostitution and trafficking.
